 General Information

The 2013 edition of the US CMS collaboration meeting will be held at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN on May 20-22 (Monday-Wednesday).

The official business of the meeting will begin Monday morning the 20th. The collaboration dinner will be Monday night the 20th. Wednesday the 22nd will be a half day ending by 12:30pm.

Spring is a great time to visit Middle Tennessee as the rolling hills are a lush, vibrant green. The climate fosters the growth of many flowering plants including tulips, azaleas, irises, magnolias and dogwoods. Days will be warm while evenings can be chilly. The average high temperature in May is 77 degrees, the average low is 57. On occasion, though, it can be quite warm in May and it would be good to check the weather forecast before departing for Nashville.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to make their hotel reservation as soon as possible. For example, the nice, low cost Scarritt-Bennett Center has plenty of rooms available but as the meeting approaches they are likely to fill up.

The main meeting room for the event will be in Featheringill Hall (a.k.a. Featheringill-Jacobs) on the Vanderbilt main campus.

Featheringill Hall has wireless network access, and the meeting room will also have wired network ports near each seat. Participants are encouraged to bring an ethernet cable in order to avoid potential congestion on the wireless network.

A light breakfast will be provided Monday through Wednesday mornings. Lunch will be provided on Monday and Tuesday. There will also be morning and afternoon coffee breaks each day.

Buses are being provided for transportation to the collaboration dinner, parking is very limited at Dyer and you are strongly discouraged from driving. Buses will leave from the Vanderbilt University Club parking lot (a very short walk from Featheringill Hall where the meeting will be held) starting around 5:30 pm. Follow this link for a map showing the location of Featheringill and the University Club.
